Number eight! My first attempt at darning! I love it. I love throwing and then altering pieces so this whole darting this is right up my alley. I will definitely be doing more of this. I wish it was a little more slender...but that probably society making me say that haha and my own insecurities coming out. Nevermind I like this fat version :) ....its been a long week....

Spouty
Just finnished the 7th teapot :) . I like it's oversized spout. I handbuilt the spout so that it wouldn't twist in the firing. I was going to make it more tubular (as if it were thrown on the wheel) but that ridge started forming on the "back" of the spout so I enhanced it and kept it! I think the line echos the line around the belly of the pot so that's why I kept it. I really like this teapot, but it almost seems too simple...I so badly wanted to carve doodles into it or something...anything! But I resisted the urge to clutter it all up and decided on simple and the whole "less is more" strategy. I think I can add a little more to it with the glazing end of this process. I want to thank my wonderful friend debbie w for the inspiration on this teapot. It's not exactly like the stunning red one she sent a pic of, but its an inspiration from the photo :). I had to put my spin on it (spout). If anyone has any suggestions on glaze (color or application) for this teapot, or any others, please comment here or on facebook! Thanks to everyone who reads these!
I'm planning on bisque firing this weekend...so....ill be glazing the pod teapot and rosemary teapot (possibly the double walled one) along with some new pitchers and some plates for an online order this comming week! Yay! So, check back for pics! I hope everyones been enjoying our nice weather, I have! :) take care

Seeing Double
Well, there it is...the double walled teapot. Hopefully it doesn't crack. I did my best so that's all I can do. The spout is already twisting! Haha so I'm going to have to handbuild it from now on if I don't want the twist. I hope this teapot is successful. I'm also beginning to doubt my choice of the cut out portion now...the teapot is so angular and the cut out so round. Maybe it balances in this way? I do love the little accents I added to the ends of the handle and around that ledge area...these accents are what made me choose the cut out design. The teapot is pretty heavy so that's a downside :/. But I love the handle! I like the shap of the pot too, truth be told I think I liked it more before I cut it out! But it had the double wall so I had to utilize it. I think ill use this shape again! It looks like some distant palace no one's allowed to enter! Haha as always...let's hope the glazing complements these qualities!
Just an update on the other teapots: they are drying and could be fired, but I don't quite have a full kiln load yet so I'm waiting to bisque(first fire) them until I can fully load my kiln :).
Promo
50 of these little guys for $15 at walmart! not bad! I plan on making new ones with new teapot every once in awhile just to keep it interesting!
Double walled
I think it was worth the wait! Haha...but I still have to carve out the design this afternoon. I just made an awesome flyer advertising the year of the teapot and I'm super excited about it. Today I am headed up to garrett's museum of art to submit three pieces to be shown at their 4th annual mebers show! I will be displaying my "Victoria" teapot to promote my year end show and this current challenge! Two other pieces will be for sale! The show runs until may 4th and ill have to update you all on the opening reception date and time. Anyways...after I get back from garrett ill be carving away at this double walled vessle and wil definitely upload pics! Stay tuned!

procrastinator, i am.
Well, I worked all week and hung out with friends all day so.....I might have lost sight on the teapot deal for half a second. :/ shame on me...but I did throw all the parts to this awesome double walled teapot and will force myself to stay up and assemble it tonight so that I don't stray from my challenge! Its too early in the game to fail! Haha I'm super excited for this teapot, but also super worried...everytime (in the past) that I've made a double walled teapot something has cracked...I don't think I've every created a successful one...so I'm gonna try again! I went to the orchard gallery today for their opening reception of their "in the garden" show and got really inspired by lots of spring~y stuff and came home and got straight to work. I spend the day with two amazing women and talked a lot about pottery, art, life, dreams, it was an awesome and beneficial day....so.....I won't beat myself up too badly about just starting this weeks teapot 6 hrs before the deadline! Haha I am truely blessed for great people and opportunity in my life! :)

Glazed Square Teapot
Done! This was a nice change. A sort of stress reliever teapot. Haha. Easy peesy. I didn't have to worry about cracking and such. It is fun and whimsical. the glaze could have been "happier". ha but i missed the sort of ash glaze thats all drippy on top so i wanted to use it. i might do a mini teapot for this weeks teapot. "how small can i go"?
